Ingredients

  • 1 Pineapple

  • 1/4 cup Cinnamon

  • 1/4 cup White sugar

  • 2 teaspoons Salt

Directions

  • Cut the rind/skin of the pineapple off by first slicing off the crown and the bottom. Then make several top-to-bottom cuts to remove narrow strips of the rind until it’s all been sliced away.
  • Then cut the pineapple into spears by first slicing the whole thing in half, down the middle. Then cut each half in half once more. Slice each quarter into 2 or 3 wedges (depending on how large your pineapple is, and how big you want the wedges). Finally, slice off the narrow, pointy edge of each wedge – which is part of the dense pineapple core that isn’t good to eat.
  • Combine cinnamon, sugar, and salt. Stir together thoroughly.
  • Coat the pineapple wedges generously with the cinnamon mixture, either by shaking/sprinkling it on, or by dredging each wedge in it.
  • Optionally insert skewers into the end of each wedge.
  • Spray grill grate with some non-stick spray. Then grill pineapple wedges over medium heat, turning every 3-5 minutes. Cook until the outside is lightly caramelized, with light charring and grill marks all over. Don’t let it burn.
  • Remove pineapple from grill, allow to cool for a couple minutes, and enjoy!
