Great Lakes Country: This is a website dedicated to news about protecting - and enjoying - the Great Lakes watershed, from north to south, east to west.   We regularly update the website, which is organized by topic, and also distribute a weekly email (replicated below) that selects the best, most significant, or most notable articles from the week and includes some recreation links.  The weekly email is in HTML format with links to the articles, and so readers can go directly to the articles (without coming to this site).

In the weekly email, I typically explain why I include a certain article. However, inclusion of an article - especially opinion pieces - should not be considered an endorsement of the position.

We send this summary out by email.  To receive the weekly summary, please email me at dwendt@greatlakescountry.com

Kayak Ontario: With over half a million incredible lakes and rivers, Ontario is a kayaker’s paradise. The types of kayaking excursions you can experience in Ontario are as varied as the scenery you’ll see along the way. If you’re new to kayaking take an introductory or beginner level program with an instructor or if you’re already familiar with the joy of the sport confidently navigate some of the most inviting waters in North America.
